That's odd. Can you reproduce this in a brand new timeline, or does it only occur on an existing one? When you tap the 'Add' link in the top-left of the entity list, the same modal should appear as when editing entities. Are you getting as far as that modal showing, or does nothing at all happen? Matt
Nothing happens at all when I tap "Add". I've only been working with a brand new timeline (Fiction template), so I don't know if I could reproduce it on an existing timeline. I actually just tried making several timelines, trying all the templates, and I've managed to kill the "Add" link for over half of them at random. They all worked before I made any changes to the calendar, but some of the "Add" links stopped working when I added a month, or changed the range from "Days" to "Hundred Years". Basically, once anything has been changed in the "Edit Calendar" section, there's a chance I can no longer add entities. I haven't discovered a common denominator, except I've managed to kill the "Add" link for every Fiction timeline I've tried by adding a month—making no other changes except adding one month. (In all these tests, I was editing the calendar of blank timelines with no entities of any kind.)
Hi, Thanks, I will do some further testing around this. I assume it isn't as simple as the "hit target" (i.e. the tappable area) on the button is a little too small, and so you are finding it hard tapping directly enough on the 'Add' link to trigger it? Could you try turning your font settings way up on your iPad to increase that size, just to see if you can then tap it more easily and get a response as expected: http://aeontimeline.helpscoutdocs.com/article/55-making-text-larger-or-smaller
+1, essentially the same happens to me. Fiction Template, custom calendar. Tapping ‘Add’ doesn’t do anything. Further testing today for details.
Just confirmed it only happens in this template. The Daily template works fine when attempting to ‘Add’ person, category, etc...
Okay, thanks. As above, can you test the text size to see if it is just the tappable area. I will start testing this in detail too. If you have a specific timeline file where it seems to be happening, can you sync it to Desktop via iCloud and then email it to [email protected]. That way, I can test whether it is file specific somehow. We will start testing this more intensively here also to try to reproduce it on our devices.
Tested. Closed App. Opened System Settings, turned font size to max. Re-opened app. Same issue. Used both my finger and Apple Pencil, tapping several times in the region to see if I could get it to trigger. No luck. If I remake a new Fiction Template without changing calendar, the ‘Add’ button work as normal.
Thanks. Can you send me a copy of the timeline that is causing the issue?
Text size doesn't make a difference for me, either. I was able to kill the "Add" link by adding a month to the Legal, Project Management, Historical, Basic, as well as Fiction templates. In the remaining templates (Screenplay, Weekly, Daily, & Number Line), adding a month doesn't kill the "Add" link, and I've tried a few other changes, which didn't cause problems either. I didn't try changing absolutely everything, but those seem fine. At the very least, the issue has recurred every time I've added a month to the Fiction template, so if other people are reporting the same issue, it should be easy to reproduce.
Yes, it sounds like it should be possible to reproduce and fix this one based on the shared information.
File sent.
Here too, and only after customizing the calendar month and week lengths.
In case it helps, there was no ‘add’ issue with the same timeline on my iMac.
I can confirm that I also wasn't able to add entities to a preexisting timeline (with custom calendar) synced from my desktop, though it functions as normal in the desktop application.
Hi, This should be fixed in version 0.9.2 once it clears Apple's review process. Matt
Works, thanks!
