Can we have recurring dates?

I wondered if there was a way to add "events" that are annually recurring (within a given range of years), so each event doesn't need to be added individually for each year. Landmarks like important holidays, solstices & equinoxes, character birthdays, etc. If this is already a feature, I haven't figured out how to make it work.

Hi, There is no way to do this at present. It has been requested before for the desktop version and is on our development list, but it is something that requires a bit of careful thought. The key issue that has prevented me doing it so far is the sheer number of events this could add in a large timeline... if you added recurring events for 2 equinoxes, 3 holidays, and 5 birthdays, then zoomed the timeline out to view a 50 year time span, that would be a whopping 500 extra events that have been created and are competing for space with the more important events. This leads to the obvious point that marking birthdays and holidays only makes sense at certain zoom levels, and doesn't make any sense when you are zoomed out to view decades -- but that introduces a new mechanism where certain events that are only sometimes visible, and we would need to work out a sensible way for them to appear and hide as the user zooms. All of which is possible and a good feature suggestion, but needs a lot more careful design than simply adding a checkbox for "Repeat every year" and plaste ring events throughout the timeline. It is actually on the list of features I plan to look at properly once the iOS version is released.
