Duncan, I love you to death, your my internet shaman, but the conversation you and Ian head into towards the end of this is very ignorant. All due respect, because it's not your fault. I don't know Ian's background, but your exposure to the "people" is what? L.A. Asheville, and now, New York? It's incredibly arrogant to suggest that the people don't know what they're talking about, when you come from a background of only liberal intelligensia who literally don't know what the pulse of regular America really is. I'm not blaming you, it's just...not possible for you to really know unless you've got boots on the ground yourself. I'm as guilty of this in the past as anyone else, I recently had a manic breakdown attempting to cause Trump to have a nervous breakdown with all my hateful tweets. It was misguided but out of love for the world, I really thought this dude was going to send us into nuclear war. Now I'm a recovering drug addict and fully committed to learning more about spirituality. And it's in my opinion that you can't really be spiritual without being apolitical. So you probably find yourself at a crossroads, having to cater to a podcast audience that loves political discourse, but also trying to come to terms with a higher power. I don't think both are possible. Again, I hope I don't come across as arrogant, but I spent the last weekend in South Carolina and it's utopia. Blacks and whites get along better, there's less government restrictions, and less police presence in general. It's freedom, and I'm only suggesting that it's misguided to suggest you understand what this country really needs when you live in a place where The State controls everything. The "people" know what's right, it's the elites that represent them that purposely misinform to divide and conquer. It's not a political opinion so much as a historical opinion, and that's why Trump won I believe. Food 4 thought. Love, Jon.
