Ideas for Training classes

The education committee is reaching out one more time asking for your ideas/thoughts/goals/dreams for training opportunities you'd like to see offered through either the AAHRA Spring Workshop or the AAHRA Annual Conference. Please share! And remember if you ask for it, we'll do our absolute best to find a trainer and curriculum to provide it! Thanks!

Class on any of the following - security and surveillance solutions for PHAs, grant writing/grant opportunities, cost cutting/revenue generating solutions for PHAs, continuing Ed for Commissioners, Non-profit formation and operation......sorry that was all I could think of.

Training on non-profit formation and operation, records retention and destruction schedules (tenant files, financials, personnel, maintenance), Section 504, would be great. Also, as the former HR Manager and now the E.D., new E.D.s need to know about personnel and performance management, terminations, IRS Pub 15-B Tax Guide to Fringe Benefits, and employment laws, to name a few

Great responses everyone! Please keep those ideas coming. FYI - for the upcoming Annual meeting we are planning a "general information RAD" session and a "understanding non-profits" session. [I see 2 requests in comments about these sessions]. Also, Phenix City Housing Authority will be hosting a Procurement Seminar in October 2017. Details to follow. This training will cover fixed assets and FA policy and small purchase requirements as well. Thank you!
