Evening everybody, just looking for some advice if anybody can help. My little girl is on the sen register. I have emailed the senco just to clarify what help she receives in school and this is what I have been told. * That she gets 1:1 support in every lesson and 1:2 phonics boosting every afternoon. * That she is on sen support. She does not have a statement or EHCP. * That she does not have an IEP as they stopped doing them 3 years ago and instead she is has a pupil profile. I do have a copy of this. I am so confused by all this terminology and there is only one teaching assistant in her class of 28, my daughter says she gets help from a lady who I know is a student teacher, is that plausible? I don't know if its me being untrustworthy due to past bad experience but does this sound right? Should I be asking for more?

What the school should be doing is regularly reviewing the support they give her - say every half term or term - and then changing it if it doesn't meet her needs. Not sure whether or not the support coming from a student teacher is an issue, at least she is getting some extra support. If the school find she can't cope under the support they can provide, then they need to look at an EHCP (what used to be known as a statement). Hope that helps!
