i think if you find a teacher who understands adhd if you are very lucky, to often kids just get labelled naughty or lazy. i work as a teaching assistant in a very lovely school and the kids there get alot of support, sadly i know this is not the case everywhere x

My 9 year old was diagnosed in October 2014, his teacher last year was so uninterested and couldn't be bothered, she gave up on him fairly early into the academic year. The SENCO, who is lovely but very inexperienced and unproductive I feel has let us down too. Well...We had an awful year! This year his teacher is one of those gems that every school should have, she took books from me about adhd over the summer, read them and has put lots of things in place to help him, some things work some don't be she perseveres and supports him. It has made life at home a little easier.
