Too Many Events? - Events get random category tags

Hi, I am putting together a timeline so far with a few hundred events so far, I wonder if it is too much for the program? I imported them from a pdf and I am in the process of organizing them by catalog, tag, people etc Sadly I am very frustrated by the bugs in this program, for some reason, all of the 'No category' events became one of the random category tags I created without me assigning them, then when I try to remove them, three other random tags are added to those. Does this app not work for large histories?

A few hundred events doesn't sound like a lot. I do not experience the problem you're having with tags. Granted, my timeline has fewer events than youes, but still... Not sure what you mean by organizing them by catalog.

Hi, Aeon Timeline should be able to handle a large amount of events. Are you saying that when you try to delete a tag from an event, three other tags are added instead? Are you deleting the tags by clicking the cross next to their name in the inspector? Do the other tags appear immediately next to it, or is it sometime later? Is this a bug you are able to reproduce every time by performing certain steps, or is it more intermittent ? Jess

To be specific I have several categories to organize historical events, the issue ones are Slavery, Land Deeds, and No Category First, I was using filters to find specific keywords in titled and turned it off, I found all but five of my no category events arbitrarily became Land Deed. So I made another filter, for example: Category Is 'Land Deed' AND Title Doesn't Contain 'Deed' This essentially allowed me to go through all and quickly make them no category once again by clicking the negative sign on their category to make it empty. Because of the filter, they disappeared because they no longer had the category tag. Once I cleared the filters, for no reason at all, they all became 'Slavery' - If I remember correctly, slavery may have been the latest category I added. I also put the categories in A-Z order, in the past they were based on the order of creation, and no-category was always at the bottom. After doing the reordering, it may have caused that issue but it is still a bug...

Now several hundred of the events have been linked to a specific person for no apparent reason...

Hi, Are you able to send your timeline through to [email protected] ? This might help us get to the bottom of the abnormal behaviour, it isn't an issue we have had reported before. Jess
