Michele Boldrin and David Levine Source: http://www.jstor.org/stable/3083403 A short article detailing the differences between the original intent of intellectual property rights and the current implementation of them. They present a small equation to understand the complex interactions between the value of an invention, the cost, the inventor, and buyers. I think the biggest contribution of this paper is the fact that it distinguishes the right to own and sell ideas from the right to control ideas after a sale.
