Here's her story: From skinny to strong and empowered "My story is a little bit different from the "lose weight and get fit" transformation story. I am not someone who has ever been overweight. I took things to the extreme. I was skinny, exhausted-- my weight was jumping up and down I had obsession with beeing lean. This eventually took a toll on my health. "My transformation took place from being skinny, unhealthy, unhappy to being strong, confident and full of life. I live a healthy and active lifestyle. It was my own personal experience of overhauling my lifestyle that has driven me to inspire and help others to do the same no matter what your starting point or mind set is. "The old me: I have always led a very active lifestyle. I have had a gym membership for as long as I can remember and really loved doing group fitness classes and challenging myself. My own personal health and fitness journey has its ups ans downs. I was very underweight, unhealthy and running myself into the ground with hours of cardio and poor nutrition. I was scared to eat. I was uneducated on the importance of food to fuel and it soon took a toll on my health. I was pushing my body to its limit. "Letting it go: The first thing I needed to change was my mindset. I had to completely let go of all my mental hang ups with diet and exercise and let go of being caught up on how lean I was or how many calories I was consuming each day. "I needed to change my relationships with food. Stop blaming myself for eating , what would end up with hours at the gym to burn those calories. At this point I set a goal for myself -- to be a healthy, active and happy women. Every day I still aspire to be fit. "The new me: I was no longer moody, fatigued and feeling week in general. I learned that health and fitness shouldn't be about punishing yourself to a point where you are unhappy. I have a newfound love for lifting weights. I live by a healthy wholesome diet, work hard in the gym but also recognise the importance of being in tune with my body. I turned what was an unhealthy obsession with appearance and weight into a healthy passion for bodybuilding. I learned how to love myself, love my body, how to give my body fuel and not overtrain."
