Building the Cable

Hello Everyone, Please help me understand the somewhat confusing language regarding the resistors involved in the building of the cable. First they have written: "A 100k Ohm 0.5% resistor. The resistor must be as close to 100K Ohm as possible. A 2k Ohm 0.5% resistor. The resistor must be as close to 2K Ohm as possible." Then they've written: "The resistor color codes are shown below. They usually are blue in color to indicate a 1% tolerance rating." Then they've written: "It is very important to note that when choosing the resistors they must be within 0.1% of the stated ohm value at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius." So to sum up my confusion with a question: Are they supposed to be 0.50%, 1.0%, or 0.10% resistors?
