Chalice Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Conejo Valley has suspended its Sunday services at 3327 Old Conejo Road in Newbury Park in response to the coronavirus emergency but the services will continue online beginning on Sunday, March 15.
"The rapid spread of the coronavirus worldwide is calling us to take immediate measures to keep our community safe and healthy," the fellowship's minister, Rev. Nica Eaton-Guinn, said in an email to members.
Each week, Chalice will notify members and friends if the 10 a.m. Sunday service will be live-streamed on Facebook or accessible via the video communications website Zoom. The virtual meetings will continue at least until the end of March and then the situation will be reassessed, Rev. Eaton-Guinn said. All of the church's business and social meetings throughout the week will be held online as well out of safety concerns.
Accessing a Sunday service on Facebook will be available by going to facebook.com/CVUUF at 10 a.m. to see the live stream. If the service is a Zoom meeting, members and friends will receive a link via email with an invitation to join in. The initial worship service on March 15 will be on Facebook.
The virtual Sunday services will be available for later viewing on Facebook, YouTube, Podcast and on the church's website at ChaliceUU.org.
