I've been reading about the "new" Oslo strain that is on its way. Apparently more is being released August 20. It produces a really good lager - bottom fermenting yeast also. Has anyone been able to get their hands on this? It is reading to ferment right out in like 3 days. Much like its other Kveik cousin strains. High fermentation temperatures too. So, you can do this beer with just a heating pad. Pretty revolutionary stuff. I can't wait to try this out and if someone happens to have a bit of slurry I would be in your debt to get some of that from you. Please let me know. Here is so more info on this: https://bootlegbiology.com/product/oslo/

Looks interesting. Video review: https://youtu.be/wG6K55Zl3-s Canadian Retailer is sold out for now: https://shortfingerbrewing.com/products/oslo-kveik-bootleg-biology Guess you can keep an eye on it. Apparently, you can buy non-commercial samples from the people on the Kveik facebook site: https://www.facebook.com/groups/174036689779170/

Thank you Ty, right on. I registered on the kveik site and was talking to Svein from Norway. Good timing perhaps. He doesn't have any Oslo. But, I am hunting this down. He did say the kveik strains will ferment clean at the low end of fermentation temperatures. Maybe less funk, esters etc at the low end by 'clean'.

He also said the Oslo is a special mix of different kveiks. I'm so excited to try this in a lager recipe though. If I can find it somewhere I'll post the link.
