Problem with USB access

Wed, 24 May 2017 21:41:21 GMT

Android 6.01, Samsung Galaxy S5 The app needs permission to access the USB port however doesn't do this correctly (in some rather weird way), start the DJI app after droneharmony then actually shows the correct dialog and allows the permissions to be set correctly.

By permission I assume you are speaking about the dialog with the list of apps that are presented when you connect the cable from RC to the phone / tablet? If this is the dialog you refer to (it has a list of apps like DJI GO 4) - then we have little control over it as its triggered by the Android system and corresponds to the list of apps that can handle this event. If you refer to something else, please clarify. Thanks Gil

No, I'm not referring to that (the intent handling chooser works as expected), and may be a Samsung specific issue see. [Screenshot_2017-05-25-00-15-49](//muut.com/u/droneharmony/s3/:droneharmony:KKjC:screenshot_20170525001549.png.jpg)

Thanks. You might be right about Samsung specific, we will check it.

I experienced this as well on my Nexus 9 tablet running nougat. DH wouldn't connect via USB until I launched the DJI Go app. Then it connected, but it still was flaky because two drone control apps were running.

Hi All, We are looking into it. Some connection problems related to Samsung tablets can be resolved by following the instructions about USB connection problems in our FAQ: http://droneharmony.com/faq.html In other cases the connection issues arise from conflicts with other apps (e.g. DJI Go). As mikestrout wrote (Thanks!), sometimes running Go before DH solves the problem of connection, but is not advised to keep both running at the same time, so if you can shut Go down and keep running DH, this might work. Best, David
