I found the cause: the new firmware of the Mavic Air, released yesterday (003), does not work fine with DH. After downgrading to 002, it worked again....
sorry, probably another cause of my problem: the Mavic Air camera calibration. This seems to be an issue for many people. In the DJI Go App, you often get the message Camera Calibration Error - recalibrate, and then some instructions on how to do this. In DH, you probably get this error from the drone as well, but without the instructions on decalibration. So I think you need to include an error message display in DH, and the decalibration functions.
sorry again, not camera calibration error, but compass calibration error.
Hi, yes errors of this type are dealt differently form DJI Go at the moment, and the callibration worflow is not yet implemented in DH. It is on out to do list. Thanks for working out what the problem was. David
I found a solution to the compass calibration error after reading some posts on the DJI forum: 1. Upgrade to latest firmware 2. Reset to factory default settings 3. Switch the tablet with DH and also your phone to Flight Mode. After doing all that, I was able to load the DH flight plan, the drone took off, followed all points, and at the end of the plan, I was even able to load new plans in-flight. Phew! Only once did DH lose connection with the drone and I had to press the RTH button on the controller to get the drone back.
Thanks for let us know how you solved the problem! Might help us if this issue pops up again. Regarding the situation in which the drone loses connection. There is a choice in DH what action should be done if such a situation: either continue with mission or Hover in place. In some cases a short connection loss is hard to avoid even at close proximity flight (e.g. when flying between high buildings etc.).
