Hi molder26, The Internet connection is required for two things: 1. The application has to register once properly with DJI in order to fly. This registration is cached by DJI (If i remember correctly the registration lasts for about a month or so). 2. Loading the google map tiles of the area you want to fly in. Google does map caching on their own (out of our control). Currently all the other features of the application do not require an internet connection. Thus we recommend the following: Before you go flying connect to the internet, then start the application and load the map areas you want to fly in. From our own experience we can say that if you fly afterwards offline you will still have the maps that you loaded at home available. It is also a good idea to connect at home the drone before flying, this way you can make sure that the DJI firmware is up to date, the SD card and battery etc. is ready. Nothing worse than driving somewhere and the sd card is still in your laptop at home :-). Best regards, Martin
Sorry for such a basic question, but is having an internet or cellular connection the field necessary? I'd like to buy a tablet to use with DH, but don't want to have to add another line.
Hi mibu, I think my statement above should answer your question? Or did I understand your question wrong? Best regards, Martin
