First apologies that time got away from me. The practice has been very busy and the FB Live High Noon with Dr Liz and Friends addressing hot button topics in health every Saturday at Noon has kept me hopping. That said, I had done a High Noon on treating pain. Meloxicam, which is in the NSAIDs family with Ibuprofen, Motrin, Naprosyn is risky for elders to take long term. These medications increase the blood pressure and may lead to fluid retention, they increase the risk for stroke, heart attack, GI bleed and kidney failure. A better treatment would be topical Ketoprofen and long acting Tylenol 1 tab in am and dinner.
