For my application, can I leave the tether out of the water (my viewing will require less distance than the tether's length)?

@1poet, that's totally fine! Many users plan to keep the buoy and tether onboard a boat, dock, or land to make retrieval easier if they don't need the drone's maximum range!

That's interesting to hear @mikeli. Our hope is that the buoy will function just as effectively as a tether management solution on a dock or boat as it does in the water!

Regarding the tether. I saw in the latest update that it is covered in a braided cover( Dyneema?) and I started to think about the possibility to use the tether to pull up the drone if it gets stuck hard. You could use the braided cover and ad a loop in to it close to the connector and have some kind reinforced structure in the hull so it can take the force from a strong pull. This might sacrifice the wings etc but anyway.... Just a thought.
