Now that winter weather has taken a hold of Pennsylvania, what are the ice fishing opportunities looking like? Any angler updates out there on catches and ice conditions?

Ice is holding in the northern tier but anglers should check the thickness before fishing. The warm weather the next few days could have an impact on ice fishing.

From East End Angler: http://eastendangler.com/ https://www.facebook.com/EastEndAngler hello anglers, ice is still safe on misery bay and chestnut side anglers went fishing today. anglers were reporting bluegills and perch being caught. some anglers have ventured over to convention center for perch. ice was 6 in thick on monday just be sure to have someone with you and polar picks just in case. lake pleasant anglers are still fishing just 25 yrd from shore in the middle it's only 3 in thick. bulls dam has 5 in anglers reporting nice pike being caught. one angler caught a 30 in pike this season so far. we have big shiners in stock for 8.50 dz. lots of ice fishing tackle and some new jigging spoons and some tungsten jigs working really good for crappie. creeks are running fast right now and muddy. there is still spots that have ice but should be clear by the weekend. 16 mile creek there are some fish being caught there. once creeks calm down it should make for good fishing. 20 mile is usually the last to clear up though. so i would'nt try it just yet. thank you for all your support:)happy fishing:)
