Metric Excellon Parsing (out of standard?)

Mon, 19 Jan 2015 16:56:02 GMT

Hy JPC, I use a CAD that generate (I think) an out-of-standard excellon file. I can make FlatCAM use it by manually reworking the file. How to send original and modde files to you to take a look on them? For me it's not hard to write a "translator" software from original excellon to flatcam compatible excellon but I would be sure to do it in the right way.

Found the way to send you files. I send FLIFFLOP.ZIP using http://caram.cl/software/flatcam/flatcam-support/

Please take a look at http://flatcam.org/fileformats and https://bitbucket.org/jpcgt/flatcam/issue/94/excellon-coordinate-parsing I will look at your files, but still see if this info relates to you. JP

As far as I read, my output files are not standard.

I mean files that came from CAD Postprocessor.

I looked at the files. In fact the one having the problem is really incomplete. It does not have a header at all. Does not specify units or number format. The tool definitions are in the body, which is incorrect too. I could try to support this (I've seen it before) but many things could still go wrong because the format between metric and inches is different, and is not specified here. The default is inches so it would still fail for you. What program did you use to generate this? Thanks, JP
