The new Goformative that is being built, a equation editor is coming. Is that what you would like to see?

It is my understanding that the equation editor you are including is only for teacher use; it is not available for student input. I think it is super important for students to be able to enter math expressions in their work. I would like to see a template based model but anything is better than nothing.

Hey Thomas, it'd be great to hear why a template based model would be great for your students!

When they take the PARCC standardized tests, those tests use a template based approach for entering math expressions. It is easier to score and is more intuitive.

It provides for a more consistent way to enter a math expression.

I just used ascii keystrokes to input the following: x^2 + 3x + 4 - I typed x2+ 3x + 4 - highlighted the 2 and typed ALT0178 and viola x²+3x+4

Nice! Our new version has an equation editor that everyone can use to create questions regardless of device as well! If you are signed in at goformative.com, you can message us using the site intercom in the bottom right of the screen and send a quick message requesting access to it!

I agree that the students need a template equation maker similar to the standardized assessments. . It

It is just too difficult to explain the different key strokes necessary to build the equation.
