Or have something like this in the new graphing question. Show the question would be graph y=2x+3 and they just manipulate the graph. Versus typing the equation into the calculator as it is currently. https://www.desmos.com/calculator/rjnw71nrup
Hi Donna! Thanks for the feedback! Our next phase in enhancing the graphing question type will be making it so that teachers can enter an equation to display a graph and allowing students to manipulate that graph. Would that meet your needs or would adding some sort of component of the graphing calculator to the Show Your Work question type be helpful as well? Did you want students to be able to draw lines on top of entering equations and dragging them as well? If you could point me to the part of Desmos or another application that allows you to do this, I'd love to take a look!
Yes, David. If you could actually flip it around and give the teachers the graph and and the calculator, as a teacher I can program the calculator to create a manipulative on the student end. I can do this now by embedding desmos but I can't capture the student side. So they can currently manipulate the graph but I can't see how it was manipulated. If you add an embed code into show your work, I won't be limited with what I can create with the calculator.
Thanks Donna! That makes sense!
