Blank Flowchart at startup - on device only

I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue that appears to be happening only on device. The exact same build runs fine in unity editor, but something is preventing the initial text block from displaying. My splash screen and Play button are behind the UI (writer started up without me taking any action on the play button). Any ideas where to start troubleshooting?
