Losing a pet

My parents just recently adopted a little green conure, and we're all kind of reeling because he just recently passed away. He was such a funny little bird - he was always chattering about something (most of it in bird words that us earth creatures haven't been able to understand yet) and he always had so much energy. It's been really hard not having him in the house because it was so unexpected. We'd only just recently lost our first bird as well, so losing our next so soon has really been shocking. It's just funny how quickly pets work their way into your heart. I figured you guys would understand.

I'm really sorry about your birds. They are such delicate creatures and are so adept at hiding any sign of illness, that it becomes terribly difficult to know that something is wrong in the first place - and often by then, it is too late. It sounds like you gave him a good home and were ready to shower him with love. Making those little noises around you likely meant that he felt safe and happy in the home you provided. I'm sorry that he is gone, that both of them are gone. Birds really do fit into a place in your heart that is different than most others.

I'm so sorry to hear that. It sounds like he was a lovely little guy and I'm glad you had a little time with him. I hope you're feeling better soon, and just know he's flying free now. *hugs*

Thanks so much for your kind words. We keep finding feathers all over the house and I'd like to think he's coming back to visit us ^_^
