MRSA (Methicillin-resistant _Staphylococcus aureus_) is a pathogenic bacteria. Skin lesions caused by this bacteria are often mistakenly thought to be bites from bed bugs, ticks and other creatures. Whereas the MRSA bacteria may contaminate the outside of a bed bug, there is no compelling evidence that bed bugs transmit this infection.
