Contour associates images with the pointclouds and meshes. Meshing on leaves would be tough, and the colorized point cloud might be too sparse on the leaves for identification. The images are all available though, so identification is quite possible. It might take some effort to figure out the best pipeline to minimize the amount of time to categorize each tree.
Is there a quick way to view a photo associated with a RGB point on a tree? For instance, if I click on a point on the tree, could the pictures used to render them pop up easily. And yes I agree that it would take some trial and error to determine the point of deminishing returns with time/profit in regards to data acquisition.

By taking a photo of each tree during the scan, you can select using only these photos through a single button click and the Kaarta Reality Layer will show the image at each location sufficient for identification.
