Jeffrey, some thoughts shaped by what I did not do on my Civil Rights Movement Tours, write, keep a journal/diary. Each one of one of you will want to remember and share the Lavender Pen Tour story. A teacher of writing says this about us telling our own story;
"No one has seen the night sky exactly from your trajectory. No one has loved exactly the people and places you have loved. Who will tell that part of the earth's story, if you do not?"
And another thought;
Hopefully the journalists and film makers/technicians will dare to be subjective as they travel with you. I wish we had gotten to meet them. We are so fearful of losing our objectivity, that we deny our subjectivity. The "Times they are....." so fearful, that we need to be "Family" regardless of which side of the camera we are on, or as writers, or those who are written about. "We are Family", must be more than a song in 2017!
