Hey! Great to have you on board sarah!!! Sorry about your shin splints. Have you had a run gait analysis? I'd definitely look to form as a primary cause. Also if you're not transitioning to minimal shoes yet, I'd SLOWLY get started on that in order to develop better proprioception and form (and likely less impact on that lower anterior leg). Inflammation in the body, often from diet, can be at play too and certainly can hinder repair. The Sock Doc, my guru on this kinda stuff, also believes root causes can be overtraining and too much stress (all kinds of stress). Lots to think about right?! What does your PT say?
