I met a driller the other day who drills in sand with just a bailer he made. He said the bailer has a flat bottom with a ball valve and a bar across the bottom. He claimed to drill 1200 feet in three weeks an ag well of 17 inches dia. He drills open hole like we do. We start with a short conductor pipe and use one 60 pound bag of bentonite for about 150 gal of water mixed with one cup of soda ash using a 2" pump.
