My accounts at Huntington are under review....My personal account is frozen because I deposited a whole bunch of money orders that I bought. I got a letter claiming they had confidential information that the money orders were not good.! I'm so pissed at Huntington right now....I'm just letting all my accounts settle, then going to talk to the manager. I also got a warning letter from USAA not to conduct business on my accounts there, as they are all personal accounts. I hate effin banks.

It was a 2200$ deal and he released it. I am very thankful that he was nice enough to do that. That would have been a nasty dispute

@scott, I feel you man, i really hate banks now :) I can send $80k around the world nearly instantly with BTC, to someone in a country like Ukraine where the government is going thru hell and you cannot trust the banks. Try to send them $3k thru the banking system and it costs a lot and isnt there in nearly in time. Add in the lack of trusting banks in that country...

Basically. This is just a rant from here on out: The amazing part is they seem to have no idea if the money in your account is "cleared" or not. That is to say that they can't tell the difference between a cash deposit, a check, or "something else". Take the 5k US bank deposit the other day (which I wrote a post on, turns out the buyer *didn't* stiff me despite acting kind of "weird" during the whole transaction"). Never mind the fact that it was in my account then gone then back again. It was cash. The manager at the branch confirmed with the teller that it was cash. I just need the money in another account, according to my account agreement cash deposits are *immediately* available for withdrawal. But their definition of "immediate" is apparently different than most. If you want to move to move money between accounts there are a few options, none good. Cash is king. But the problem is that most tellers don't have more than about 3k in large bills in their till. So then they need more cash and the manager all the sudden wonders "Gee that's a lot of cash". I always tel l them "It's going *directly* to another bank.... as if it's any of their business. So then they want to "verify" all your recent deposits which means they have to call 2 or 3 other branches. It's like computers and internet don't even exist or something. But really I'd rather not haul out a boat load of cash so since it was over 7k I just got cashiers check instead. They charge $7 for this "service" which I figure should at least theoretically look less suspicious than a stack of bills. And it's supposed to be as good as cash (thus the name *cashiers* check). I did this Tuesday (before my 5k disappeared and then reappeared) but it was almost closing and they couldn't contact the other branch back east because it was closed (and I'm on the west coast). I'm surprised they're actually using telephones and not Morse code. But they did verify one other large deposit they were concerned about. So today I did the whole song and dance over again and they wanted to verify the first deposit (the one they *already* "verified") all over again. I finally get my check but can the receiving bank clear it today? Of course not despite the fact that the check came from a block away. I could literally step out the front door and point to the branch. I probably could have done an ACH faster than this... they only take about 24 hours but of course commercial banks have to float to your ACH's for 4 days and for some reason the receiving bank won't do more than 2k at once.... funny that coinbase doesn't seem to have this problem....when they want to let it go through that is. Why even do all this? Because a wire transfer isn't cheap and I'd rather make it as large as possible and of course do it at a bank that's going to give me the best price. Oh and the credit union who actually has the best price on wires won't do a wire for me because they want my account open at least 6 months. So if people want to know why bitcoins are such a pain in the ass to buy this is it.... among other things. /Rant out.

US banks are antiquated on purpose. It allows them to give poor customer service and generate fees for BS.

WF also closed my account recently based on having too many incoming deposits... I sent a report to the BBB but I doubt it will do any good. If anyone is interested I'll let you know how WF responds.

@Forum_Throwaway After reading your latest post, I can say we're in the same boat. When the bank was going through the "verification" process of confirming the deposits (something I had already done personally), I was told that it is not a necessary process after a certain level of trust was established. When I asked how long this would take, they could not give me a definite answer and the next day closed my account. You can blame it on stone-age technology but the truth is that banks operate by using deposits to fund investments that return interest and they can't do that if the deposits are being immediately withdrawn. We should be able to use our bank accounts any way we like, unfortunately, there's a little clause somewhere in the contract saying they can terminate any time for any reason. I was told I'll never be eligible for a bank account at WF again. I haven't broken any contracts, or the law. WF is just selfish... or "conservative" according to my ex-banker.

My Bank account just got closed recently due to a fraudulent wire transfer sent from a Nigerian Scammer. Now he is trying to fight for funds that have already been sent back and he is trying to get be banned for Bitcoins he didn't receive. The best part is he is not even the one who sent the money, Whoever did opened a case with the bank because 3 days after i pulled the money and started sending coins my bank was negative! I was told that if i didn't deposit teh amount that was negative my account would be closed for fraudulent activity and it indeed was i was also told i was not allowed to come back to the bank. MY OWN BANK! STAY AWAY FROM James247 He is a triangle scammer and he rushes and rushes the process because he knows he has limited of time before teh real person who sent the money get suspicious and opens a case.
