It seems that the IOT standards are all still a mess. Check out: http://www.datacenterknowledge.com/archives/2015/07/23/the-iot-standards-war/
At first glance, arggh. However, there actually are listed only two big players, AllSeen and OIC. IBM is covering its bets by investing in both. And AllSeen will be bundled as open source in Windows 10. Meanwhile, as I mentioned at Thursday's meeting, if there's a data bus that takes all inputs, then it should be possible to subscribe to that bus without knowing details of changing standards; and it appears Microsoft has built one of those, though it doesn't mention what inputs it accepts: "There is also a device system bridge, contributed by Microsoft. “The world is filled with other networks,” said DesAutels. The device system bridge provides connectors for proprietary, specialized systems, such as Bacnet and EnOcean."
