My wife and I are thrilled to be members of MBCA and can't wait to meet people with similar interest in Mercedes and do some First Sunday drives and other events. Before I met my wife she owned a 280 SEL originally from Germany. Together we've owned a Mercedes or two for approximately 22 years. Our first was a 1990 420 SEL that we traded in for a 1992 300 E which we kept for 21 years and it was a great car and really dependable. A few weeks ago I donated her to Make A Wish Foundation and it only had 218K miles on it but she was getting really tired. We've also owned a 1999 CLK 320 until we traded it for a 2001 E320 which we owned for 18 years and it was also a really good car.with only 131K miles on her. Unfortunately the car was totaled in Feb. by a hit and run driver and we replaced her with a 2005 E320 that's in excellent condition with only 48K miles. Since the 1992 was on it's last leg we recently replaced her with a 2011 E350 with 72K miles and also in excellent condition. What we find a coincidence is that the 1992 300 E was garnet red and the 2001 E320 was white and now our 2005 E320 is Bordeaux red metallic and the 2011 E350 is white. What were the odds that we would replace two Mercedes with red and white again? We admire all types of Mercedes!!
