New Star format on line

I'm trying to read the Star on line and I can not find the zoom in button to read the pages. I looked through the instructions and can not figure it out. I am slightly pissed off by the web changes that have been made over the years. Every time I figure out what I need to do to navigate the site someone changes the format to make it "better." I have been an MBCA member since 1991 and will continue but I am quite upset with the decisions that the club is making with the web site.

Gee, I was able to read the pages after I downloaded it. I have no idea how my download could be different from your download so I didn't feel I needed to try to zoom in for this version. That's not to say there's not an issue here. I typically use the online version to browse through the issue to see what I have to look forward to. I'll do some article reading online but I save the bulk of my reading for when the print version arrives. Maybe alerting the national business office to this issue as I think they;re the ones that post it to the web site?

When you click on view issue it comes up in 2 pages and when you scroll it turns the page. The text is small and blurry in the articles. There was a zoom feature in the old format. This one does not have a zoom that I can find.

I had the same 2 pages on my screen when I clicked on view issue and I was able to read it. Maybe an adjustment to the print size for your screen might help?

Will The Star be online now? I have yet to get my March issue.

No, the print issue will show up. I typically get mine usually the 2nd week of the month.

You can zoom on a full digital issue by double-clicking on the full digital page once the issue is opened. Then you will then see the zoom options appear in the bottom right hand corner. You can also drag the issues' page around at that point to see the area that you're zooming in on better. Especially if some of it hides under the site footer the more you zoom. Moving the page by dragging it will help to alleviate that issue. This is the best way to handle it if viewing on a normal web browser and wanting to zoom to see the text easier. Screenshot added for example of zoom options that appear: [Zoom-functionality-in-full-digital-Star-Issues](//muut.com/u/mbcaforum/s3/:mbcaforum:Deiq:zoomfunctionalityinfulldigitalstarissues.png.jpg). You can download a PDF by hovering around the top of the pertaining issue if on a normal computer browser. Then you'll see a header appear with a bottom arrow that signifies the download. PDFs can then easily be zoomed in on by your browser's PDF functionality. A mobile device will work mostly the same as above but I think the next option is better for that... On a mobile device you'll need to click directly under the full issues page view. Then you'll see the top header options appear right above the issue with the arrow to download the PDF copy. If on an iPhone for example, the PDF could be downloaded and then saved to your iBooks to read there. In terms of why the changes were recently made for full digital issues, these were pushed down to us by our publisher. Pub Press was recently acquired by LSC. They implemented their own system of delivering online copies. We just embed and authenticate to them with our main MBCA system. So we have a limited amount of control on what's possible with those.

The print copy should be showing up soon if it hasn't already. Those haven't been replaced by digital issues and will continue to go out. Just the format of the full digital copies has changed. If you ever have questions on if a paper issue has been sent yet, you can contact the NBO and we'd be happy to check. Thanks!

I received my print copy yesterday. My browser does the PDF format so that explains my not having issues with the online version, at least for now, lol. I only use the online version to see what I have to look forward to in the print version.

The print version is terrific, as usual.

Thanks Marcus. That made it readable. There are too many changes that make things difficult to navigate...
