Renewal Incentives

Having just completed my February annual membership renewal, I was disappointed to receive an email this AM touting various incentives to renew and stating that these incentives are not retroactive. Is MBCA in such bad shape that it must offer incentives to renew. If so, what consideration should be given to long term members whose renewals have kept the Club going for so many years.

A very good question for the MBCA national leadership. I suggest you contact national Membership chair Doug Geganto who signed the email you're referring to and ask him that question.

Edward, I never got that e-mail. Could you post the crux of it here?

I got the e-mail this morning as well. The deal runs from March 1s to March 31st 2021. Bonus 1: One additional month added to your membership for every year you renew. You can earn up to an additional 3 months of extended membership for a 3 year renewal. Bonus 2: All members who renew their membership during this promotion will be eligible to win a $50 gift card. Special Bonus: If you enroll in Auto-Renew at the same time you renew, you will automatically be entered in to the drawing for a $50 gift card. A drawing is held at every 1000 auto renew enrollment. The next drawing will be held at the 3000 enrollment mark.

Thanks, Robert. Nothing to get excited about.

I attended a Zoom meeting hosted by Doug Greganto a few months back. I was a bit disappointed because the focus was nearly all on retaining and growing membership. This incentive is one of the efforts but I frankly don't think it is going to "incentivize" many who don't get what they are looking for in MBCA. Auto renew is a BIG push. Hang tags for dealers to place in cars is another push. Other subjects were pretty much glossed over. I'm not critiquing Doug's efforts - membership can be a thankless position. But I also feel the health of the club is rooted in offering an attractive product for everyone, and not just one segment or another (classic or diesel or whatever).
