This is a part on the rear axle. Mine is leaking oil. Where can I reseal this part? Any suggestions will be helpful. 1972 280se 4.5

If you are referring to the self leveling device, it can be rebuilt or replaced by the coil spring fitted to earlier and lesser cars. Be aware that if you attempt to rebuild this unit, it contains a spring strong enough to launch the smaller bit most of the way thru a cinder block wall. So contain it in some manner!

I plan to drive the at least twice a week. Do you think I should replace it with coil springs. The coil springs are about $250 vs $1,500 for the pneumatic assembly. Will the handling and ride change much?

Hey Pal, I got a 67 250SE with spring, same spring, 223,000 miles. rides like new, load up the trunk at Costco, no issues love the ride. Good Luck with it.

as above, unless you have 3 really fat relatives and a trunk full of heavy luggage to take to the airport you will scarcely know the difference (or, for that matter, a trunk full of really fat dead bodies)

The spring replacement will give you a little bit of excess positive camber without a load, but it's adequate. We have the hydraulic units on an exchange basis. Not cheap.
