Well, you can set up extra administrators. You won't have access to the "moderator" user level until the SMALL plan. The MINI plan does provide unlimited Administrators, however. Regardless of all those factors, any user can be notified of new threads on the forum by heading to the upper right on your forum dashboard and clicking on your name. on the resulting open dialogue make sure "[watch for all new posts](//muut.com/u/moot/s1/:moot:jKjy:watchposts.png.jpg)" is checked. It is unchecked in this picture. This will make sure you get notified of new _threads_ to be notified of new replies, you'll need to make sure you watch/follow new posts by clicking on the [little eye icon](//muut.com/u/moot/s1/:moot:cfPi:watch2.png.jpg).
Thanks for your answer. But I want to receive email for every activity (new threads or replies) on forum (we will filter emails from every channel). is it possible with MINI plan? If not, is it possible with SMALL plan? In SMALL plan is it possible that every channel have administrator and he receive email for every activity on his channel?
This is not a behavior we currently support. We are currently looking into the possibility to allow community owners and admins get notified of all forum activity, but nothing is set in stone yet. And currently there is no easy way to replicate this behavior. Sorry.
So if I understood correctly, Muut haven't option to send email notification for activity (in all plans). It only support notifications inside Mut platform? In account setup there is check box "Disable all email notifications". What for is this enable/disable option? In SMALL plan, which notification options have moderators?
OK, so it seems like there may be a small confusion here. I'll try to explain again. *1. Muut supports email notifications, but the context of these notifications is limited.* If you select the button that says "watch for all new posts" you will receive email notifications for *new* threads only. (This option will not give you notifications for new replies) You'll also be able to "follow" or "watch" individual threads by clicking on the "eye" icon. When done, you'll receive an email notification concerning replies to these threads. If you participate in a given thread, you'll automatically follow that post and receive notifications, unless you opt out. *2. You will not receive an email notification for every single instance of activity on your forum* As mentioned in #1 we support limited contextual notifications, but we have no setting to automatically follow all new threads automatically. You'll be able to be notified of new threads, but in order to follow individual threads, you'll have to either participate, or follow them manually. *3. You cannot follow or watc h for all new posts in only a single channel.* You can watch the entire forum, but individual channels cannot be watched in the way you are looking for. *4. Email notifications will _not_ be sent if you have the Muut forum open.* We do not send any notifications while you've got your forum open, because we try to not overdo the emails we send. On the busiest forums, sending emails constantly always would get pretty overwhelming, and fast. We also rate limit the emails we send based on how long it's been since you last arrived, and how frequent users are posting. So that way, if you've got a really active forum, and you go on vacation you don't end up with 100+ emails, but instead a more manageable amount.
@Monika - We're using Muut for commenting. In the setup we have users are pretty much always online, and there is nowhere in our interface we display if new comments have appeared (unless the user enters the specific article/page with the comments). Is there any way to turn a send-all-notifications-on-email-anyway function?
There is not a mechanism for that at this time. It's an interesting suggestion though. Hmmm 🤔 I'll pass the suggestion onto the rest of the team! Thanks
@Monika I am a member of another forum and an effective way I have found they manage this is to send a summary of all the previous day's conversations as links with mini introduction. It allows one to see what is going on and then log in if need be. Is this something that muut can enable so we can automate summaries to send to our members?
There's not anything we've got at the moment, but I'll pass that suggestion on! :)
