Muut and its Pricing for Shopify

I see here a premium account of Muut here is shown to be 16 or so dollars a month. On Shopify the fee starts at 49 dollars. Myself and the team here think that to be too steep of a price for our annual budget. On what platforms is Muut the least expensive? Shopify is a great site, but e-commerce, Shopify's mission, is less than 20 percent of what our final content will be. Mainly the site will consist of news, our blog, and the forum. Might Wix or Wordpress be better avenues to enjoy Muut at a cheaper rice than 49 dollars a month? We are a film community in a 3rd world country, and our budget simply cannot afford the app on Shopify.

Hi there! It depends on what features you're looking for as to what premium plan you'd need/want for your site — or if you'd rather just use the free plan. We do stand by the fact that Muut free is a complete version. Specific features like saving your settings in the designer, or additional administrators or moderators are unavailable on the FREE plan, but the FREE plan is generally enough for some folks. Some of our busiest and most successful communities run on the free plan, and up until recently, we used the free plan for our own official support forum. However, Shopify, as a platform, requires that we have a specific feature available to all users of the app: "use customer accounts". Which translates into Federated ID or "your authentication". Because that is a premium add-on feature, the app becomes restricted to premium plans only — and specifically the SMALL plan and up. You can, of course, use HTML to embed your Muut forum without the App and you'll have the ability to embed Muut on your Shopify site without having to purchase the SMALL plan. It's only the plugin/app that requires the SMALL premium plan. Not the Shopify platform itself. If you want to use the WordPress plugin (or the Wix plugin), there are no such requirements, and it can be used with the FREE plan. As usual, though, certain features are restricted based on your subscription level or lack thereof _It's worth keeping in mind though that the Wix plugin is an unofficial plugin designed by the folks over at Wix_

Hi. This seems like a good suggestion, but where is Muut free? It doesn't look like anything is free.

The free Muut client is no longer available for new signups. The MINI plan at $20/month is the minimum plan supported for creating a Muut community

I think a blog post talking about the end of the free version would have been interesting :(

Just to be clear, if you're currently using the free version, you can continue to do so, forever. We won't be taking that away from you retroactively :)

What is the reason for this decision? Will there be modifications in the tools available in the various plans?

I'm not entirely sure on the "why," but there are no plans in changing the tools available in the various plans. Same great Muut service, with the same features!

Before, after the test period, if the owner did not opt for one of the plans, the community would be placed in the free version. Now, what will happen?

An alternative for new people: Muut has another company, [Tal.ki](http://talkiforum.com/), with a free option.

After the trial period, the community will be disabled. But the community owner will still be able to view and have access to the content and can do a JSON backup if they want
