Let me start this by saying Im a 39 year old guy who literally came to the Grateful Dead/Dead & Co two years ago. I saw Dead and Co in Dallas, and Austin in December and man I AM HOOKED!! Im actually heading to New Orleans show in Feb, and got tickets for the Cali run in the Summer. A good friend of mine suggested this podcast to me, and its been really cool. I just want to say thanks for the podcast its amazing. So being a newbie Im curious is there some unwritten rules, or rules of the show that I need to know? If anyone is heading to NOLA lets meet up!

Hey man sorry for the late reply but there's only one rule we have and it's don't be a dick xD other than that talk about anything and everything you feel like talking about. It'll be easier pretty soon. We gave the forum a shoutout on the next episode. But in the meantime... I'm a 23 year old guy and my uncle (the Conductor) got me hooked on the Dead about 4 years ago. He took me to a Rat Dog show and the show actually started super late and by the time someone actually came on stage it was to tell the crowd that Bob was severely sick and you could feel the disappointment couldn't perform but they said Jay Lane was going to sing instead and he blew the fucking roof off the place!! To be totally honest I've only really gotten into the Dead and other jam bands this past year. But anyways I don't steer this ship but I help out on the podcast where I can and its really cool to hear that people are enjoying it!

Buzz, it's Aaron... Look man, we're all just there to have a good time. There ain't no rules beyond what Ryder already said. Guidelines maybe, but no rules. I'd say this: -If you see a brother or sister having a difficult time with their chosen sacrament, help them get water or get to a med tent if they're willing. I have saved a couple lives at shows. if they don't want help, keep an eye on em. We take care of the Family. -Don't blabber during songs! As I get older I HATE when I'm groovin and there is some yahoo chatting about his workweek or how much beer they have had... it makes me wanna not be peaceful! -If you get confused.... listen to the music play. -Get as high as you want just don't be "that guy"... we've all seen him puke all over the back of the brother/sister in front of him. He's a drag to deal with. (we bring "airsick" bags with us now...older and wiser :-) -Be kind. Aside from that man.... it's party time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OOoooooo...I hate people talking during shows. Saw the Avett brothers a few years back and these two idiots in front of us wouldn't stop talking. Ruined the show really. You paid good money to see a band, why you jibber jabbing? Irks me man. I will def look to help people out. I love that. I'm going to meetup with noladeadhead, so I'm expecting a really kick ass time. My first time in NOLA actually. No better time than for the dead man. I love that if you get confused...listen to the music!! **great back of the tshirt idea!!!**
