Interesting. On our jang it's possible to move it up and down and adjust to the height you need (I adjust the double disc based on the crop/bed prep). There could perhaps be different models of the Jang? can you post a picture of it the top part where the double disc inserts into the seeder?
It’s the the same as you mentioned Jesse. I was just curious if there was a guide to the graduated marks on the rod that inserts into the Jang. I never really adjusted the standard shoe (kind of a blunt instrument), but feel that the double disc adds a bit more precision.
I think I adjusted the double disc up like a quarter inch higher than the stock setting with the standard shoe. When I tried it at the same height the discs were throwing soil onto the adjacent furrows the jang had made. Super happy with the discs though. I've got tons of residual plastic left in my field from the previous farmer's tomato operation and I'd have to constantly stop to clear the shoe since it would drag it and drop seeds right on to the bit of plastic it was dragging. I've had more consistent stands since switching.
