-Review for steam- I remember when I was a small wee child, back when I was shorter than most grown adults. I remember the smell and feel of grease in the air, the hotness off the deep fry vats, the diversity in culture and strangers met at the local fish and chip shop. Most iconic-ly what I remember from those days, The Arcade Machine. Imagos Softworks who has now Teamed up with PixelJam Studios who never fail to deliver in retro or nostalgia bring us this new game 'Starr Mazer : DSP' to fit in the retro and nostalgic lines. Bringing nostalgia of the games I played back then, where you flew around as a jet blowing up UFO's and such picking up weapons and generally trying to avoid bullets, Starr Mazer remains it's own unique features and play style to the star fighter shoot'em'up genre. With a weapon power and upgrade system the makes you think about how You use your resources and try to skillfully manoeuvre around the screen to try and combine said resources for the BIG points this is one that will have arcade fans sitting at their computers for some hours as they b last through hoards of the alien scum known as the G'ell. The geniuses at pixel jam also thought of a way in which you can 'pay' by using the score you accumulate to buy more lives, much to the liking of inserting all your spare change in to the much loved to this day arcade machines. This fantastic feature is not only addicting to use but wont leave your pockets penniless. True to arcade nature there is only one difficulty and that's hard mode. Can't say i'm to upset about missing difficulty slider the games extensive content of 2 ACTS is meant to be enjoyed in a challenging and fun experience. But wait don't go anywhere i have more to say! Adding on to the nostalgic experience are many quotes and movie references from iconic games/movies such as "Duke Nukem" and "FireFly(Serenity)" 9.9/10 from me, would like to have seen remap-able key options but hey guess I'm fussy. In the end it's a good game worthy of much praise and lived up to all my expectations after watching the shorts for it. Great work Imagos and PixelJam!
