Assigning MIDI keys to select tracks

Is there any way to automate moving the selection around? (i.e. what left/right/up/down do if controlling with the keyboard). I would like to select particular tracks or scenes and trigger with a dedicated record/play button on the MIDI controller, without having to reach for the mouse or keyboard. The keyboard that I use (Launchkey Mini) is not very practical for use with playtime without this command...it seems like it could be an easy fix, this keyboard is wonderful with Ableton Live, there's no reason it can't be the same with Reaper. Does anyone else use Playtime with a Launchkey Mini? Perhaps more intuitive way to map the keys? Or any luck getting visual feedback? Thank you very much for your help!

This is possible. The automation parameter is called "Selected slot". Now in 1.7.0, it is also possible to change the controlled slot area with Launchpad (scrolling). Might also be interesting for you. If you send me the MIDI events produced by Launchkey Mini buttons (using ReaControlMIDI "Show Log") and tell me which function you want on which button, I can create a controller configuration file for you in order to get it to work with Launchkey Mini as well. Very much appreciated because then I can also integrate it into Playtime in the next release.

If there was a way to change which two rows in playtime that the controller is representing (ideally using visual feedback), that would be an enormous help. Let me know if you need anything else from me that might help. Thank you!

This ReaControlMIDI output looks not like it's coming from the Launchkey Mini. Make sure you choose Launchkey Mini as MIDI input for the track, arm the track, add the ReaControlMIDI FX and press some buttons on the Launchkey Mini. Each button press should result in one line in the ReaControlMIDI log.
