I'm interested in starting a dual core schedule and get my sleep down to about 5 - 5 1/2 hours of sleep total per day to get more stuff done. I've read a few articles but haven't really found all of the information that I'd need.
Here are my overall goals
- I'd like to get around 5 hours of sleep total instead of the current 7-8 hours of sleep I'm currently getting using monophasic
- Work schedule is 0730-1600 including commute (7:30am-4pm) and I'm unable to take naps at work
- I'd rather not have take a nap between 6-10pm unless absolutely needed
Here is the schedule I'm thinking of trying.
Core 1 - 2330 - 0300 (11:30pm-3:00am) - 3.5 hours
Awake - 0300 - 0530 (3:00am - 5:30am) - 2.5 hours
Core 2 - 0530 - 0700 (5:30am - 7:00am) - 1.5 hours
Awake - 0700 - 1630 (7:00am - 4:30pm) - 9.5 hours
Nap - 1630 - 1700 (4:30pm-5:00pm) - .5 hours
Awake 1700 - 2330 (4:30pm - 11:30pm) - 7 hours
Giving me a total of 5 1/2 hours of sleep.
