Thanksgiving off seems a little obvious and I don't think anyone can reasonably fault them. Especially after a newsletter with a run down on all the picks and risk/reward charts (that are technically not something we're entitled to as PTT subs.)

I agree with Capricorn, this is very unprofessional behavior from PTT. Last year they issued a Research letter on Thanksgiving day, as well as issuing a Research newsletter on boxing day 26-Dec. This year there's not even a note from our friend Kiran? Makes me wonder if he's still around. I don't think the recent lack of communication has anything to do with the performance of PTT picks. It goes deeper than that.

What i personally think is that with the Fed manipulating the market, it has become almost impossible to use research and logic to invest in the market. Maybe Mark and Kiran are doing deep research into identifying possible cracks in the market

I think the problem here is consistency. People expect it, and when it changes frequently it is tough. I understand that the market isn't great right now, but the service could still be great with consistency and communication.

When i have to provide reports at work but can not for what ever reason i then provide a short note explaining why and a date/time when said report will be available. This is basic professional courtesy to my co-workers, I expect the same or better from a paid service.

i would love to have mark move in with me, and log into my schwab account every morning, and do all my trades for me, and let me know what he did, but of course, without boring me with the details. i would provide him with free internet and probably at least snacks, if not a couple of meals a day. but i don't understand why everyone is constantly looking for a new reason to freak out about this service. the market is crappy right now. it's gone up and down several times. PTT has told us to exercise caution. mark has stated that his historical average is that about 70% of his picks do well. why would you expect that in a crazy market that we'd even be able to notice whether we're doing well or poorly? we know AERO's doing poorly, and nobody is saying it's not. GLUU is not as great as we would like, but that is very likely the market volatility. all the other picks are doing fine-ish, more or less. the thing that really concerns me here is that when there's a churn of negative sentiment over what essentially boils down to "Crappy Market," this sentiment on this forum can actually cause readers of this forum (subscribers) to make bad emotional decisions that further impact the price of the holdings we're hoping will do well, because it's undermining the confidence in the entire business. i also recognize and respect that a forum is a place where people exchange views and that not all will be positive sentiment. but we should recognize we're not helping our investments in any way by repeatedly being negative about PTT on here.

I don't think anyone is "freaking out". This is a business simple and plain, we pay and then service is provided. When an obligation is not met whether that is the customer not paying or the business not providing then an inquiry should be made. In this case some people want to know what happened to the news letter and why there is no explanation. Trying to joke around about it in puerile ways does nothing but foster an unprofessional attitude from the provider. I have to say, i'm constantly baffled by the posts made in this forum. Either they are expecting too much from PPT complaining to no end about phantom services we don't even pay for or are obligated to receive or it is the other end of the spectrum which acts scared that Mark will somehow be offended and leave and thus practically begs that he doesn't. This is just a paid for newsletter, a business. We pay for said newsletter and they provide. If PPT provides more on it's own free will then great but if no t then ok. If they don't provide a service like a newsletter which is weekly then an explanation is required out of courtesy at the least. So simple.

Karl, I may have missed something, but I don't recall a weekly newsletter being what I paid for. If Mark has something to communicate, it is a great way to do so, and he does usually issue one, other times he'll issue 2 in a week. As I recall the service is just picks, and market conditions with some education thrown in occasionally.

Puerile...nice vocabulary usage Karl. Although you should have used Puerility as it's scrabble score is 14 versus Puerile which is only 9 points. (i.e. "Trying to joke around using puerility does nothing but foster an unprofessional attitude") That's better.

I really don't care if its weekly news letter or when ever Mark feels like there needs to be something said about a stock or event. i'm just looking for well researched picks(core picks). I think it's pretty simple if your not happy, don't renew your membership and go with someone else.
