So they've taken responsibility for the KATY-PERRY-FLOP!
> @THE-DOC > So they've taken responsibility for the KATY-PERRY-FLOP! what did they say
Basically that it's performed MISERABLY and that was an operational sort of fuck-up WHICH they've accounted for in diminished earnings expectations moving forward...........
Regarding Katy Perry Flop, this is how De Masi described it: "Due to our own challenges, we did not produce an engine that delivered I’d say top quartile monetization. And part of that was because of ambition around fully online only game, fully server-side game, which while its function has had challenges with bugs and challenges with decisions made early on a development that ultimately we believe we can avoid going forward, given our new CTO and process and systems, but would have been so expensive to redo that you’d be rebuilding the title once we discovered them. Ultimately, you have a product which is buggier than it should be, less stable than it should be and not as responsive as it should be. And that means that you tend to have poor retention when players see that. And poor retention of course is actually the hardest thing to change in a game." Translation: Due to poor management during game development the end product was so technically screwed up tha t users gave up and deleted it. The only way to fix the problems would be to completely start over. De Masi is a spin master of the highest order. No wonder Gomes admires him so much.
I have to say I was actually pretty happy with the call. Problems were identified, concrete steps were taken to limit the chances of it happening in the future. DeMasi took some blame. It was much better than Q3's call where the prescription was just essentially "make better games" which was not exactly confidence inspiring.
3 million shares traded already lets see how it holds up when the day traders leave.
7Million and counting..................we need the momentum to continue with the KKJ 'nice-girls' game...................hope they show those abs off in the game launch 2/18...........
"Glu Mobile Worth $3, Says Northland's Jeff Houston" "they" haven't a DAMN clue, these useless analyst, and while I now suspect that MG had no real intent for this pick to succeed either (as he shorted and sold us at every turn NO DOUBT) he probably made a true mistake and actually pick a true winner (long-run) despite the horrible pain endured by most of us.
