This is Rusty from Gear Hut. We love what Alisha is doing here with trying to repurpose things that may just seem like trash. Here at Gear Hut, our number one waste is the wax-paper left over from the stickers that go on our products. If anyone thinks they can put little wax papers to use please let me know. I haven't found a use for them other than note taking, which I unfortunately don't do enough of.
This is Garrett with Down To Earth Composting. We're Reno's bike-powered compost collectors, so while we have plenty of food waste we could share, the Washoe County Health Department is pretty specific about who we can and can't give it to, so we can't share any of that here :-) Props to Alisha for getting this set up (as much as we love 'rotting', we know that 're-use' is usually a more effective way to minimize waste. I'll be back on this forum once Down To Earth has some 'waste' that might be suitable for re-use!
This is Sarah from Heart Path Wellness and the Great Basin Community Food Co-op. I have an abundance of twist ties, many unused and of good quality. I’m going to be using some in my garden, but I have a continuous supply of them. Something that I am always looking for is old magazines. They are essential to my artistic ventures and wayyyyy cooler if acquired second hand. 🌈
Hello everyone! Excited to see these initial posts. I will be helping as much as I can connect the dots here as we begin to gain more users in this forum. In the meantime, just wanted to let everyone know that if you want to reply, then to click on the "m" next to the person you want to reply to and then you should be taken to a page that gives you the option to privately message. If you reply to this tread, then I will also help directing it to the right person. :)
