kind words and hilarious conspiracy theories. The good news is that COVID didn't get me and that I didn't sell out :) The bad news is that I don't think I will be able to fix the issues you are reporting here. And even worse news is that the reason behind it is completely outside of my control. It seems that Amazon is slowly degrading (and likely eventually discontinuing) the APIs that this site relies on. So, unlike other times when the issues were caused by a bug in my code, this time it looks like we just have to say "goodbye" to those features that used to work and don't anymore.
I have some good news too though. I have been spending my spare time on building a browser extension (Chrome Desktop and Amazon US only for now -- sorry) that would replicate most of the so.cool features directly on the amazon website. It also adds some features that don't exist here, such as the ability to bookmark your searches, use browser navigation buttons (Back and Forward) and others. I don't know when (and whether) I will be making it publicly available, but I am happy to share it w ith a few of you. In the past year or two since I started working on the extension (it's been a slow process), I have been promising to share the extension with those of you who bought me coffee. I will now honor my promise. So if you have have supported the site in the past and are interested in trying the extension, email me at email@example.com from the email associated with your coffee donation, and I will add you to the list of testers. If the email you used for the donation was not a @gmail account, include your gmail address in your note -- I believe the Chrome web store requires testers who have a valid google account.
Sorry to disappoint those of you who have enjoyed having so.cool in your toolbox. I'll keep it live for now, but as it slowly degrades in functionality I will likely just let it be. So consider this to be my "End Of Support" notice. And sorry I've disappeared for a while. As I have said many times in other conversations below, this site is entirely non-commercial (save the couple hundred bucks donated via coffee over its lifetime, which was far less than what it cost me to run it). I built it for my own use, never intended to make it big (and it's really not big -- although most of you guys are active and dedicated, the site gets <100 visitors a day), and I only supported it to the extent that I was using it myself (while appreciating your input). So as I shifted my focus to the extension and switched to using it instead of so.cool for my shopping needs, I kind of stopped paying attention to the site. Like I did with this website, I am building the extension for my own use, but I want to honor my promise to share it with those who donated.
Thank you all!

Can we still donate and get access to the extension?

I'm glad you're doing ok! Stinks Amazon is being a cockblock. Wait, there's an extension? Go onn

@socoolfan: just sent you an email. @cooperlewis: sure, you are welcome to donate, but I cannot guarantee that I will immediately add you to the list of testers. I am currently sharing it with folks who have donated in the past and want to go slow with releasing it to more people. But if the rollout goes well, I will eventually get to those who are donating now.
