It's not about concentration! Exactly the opposite, in fact. As long as you're thinking, trying, forcing, wanting a result, you're not meditating. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it. Paradoxically, it's the easiest thing there is. But we prefer to insist on making it hard.
Thank you so much ♡
Just let you thoughts come and go, if you get stuck on a thought, come back to your breath. Try putting on some peaceful Native American flutes or rushing water in the background. A candle always seams to help me. If I get lost in a thought, I come back to my breath and the candle. I picture the candle light as light from divine, and it reminds me to picture the breathing in of life force energy. Also chakra learning the 7 chakra vibrations helped me a lot. Once you’re chakras are balanced, it’s much easier to slip into a meditative state for longer periods of time. Happy humming 💗
Wonderful responses. I'll just add that when we first begin to meditate, our thinking, human mind (the ego) isn't used to the process and doesn't like to quieten down. The more we meditate, the more the ego gets used to the process and begins to trust it. The ego doesn't like to be quiet, the mind/ego likes to think, worry, mull things over and so on. But once the mind/ego begins to trust the process, it will quiet down. So regular meditation over a period of a few weeks, even days, we start to notice a diffrence. Meditating at the same time every day, even if it's only for a little while, the ego begins to actually expect it to happen and accept it. Indeed, best not force thoughts, mental chatter or songs away, just realize they are happening and bring your attention back to your breath. I find doing two things at once helps. Like repeating a mantra, for example; 'I am love' slowly on the in breath and again on the out breath, while focusing on the breath. Sending much love indeed! ❤️
