Hi David, Your latest video and article, 'A connection between the book of Ezekiel and the Iliad, via the planet Mars', is fascinating and well-done! If I may add a few points. It is noteworthy how others have seen the Ezekiel passage. One literalist, for instance, states: 'It is important to correctly perceive the literal meaning of this prophecy and to grasp the existence of the concealed end-time warning.’ http://www.bibleinsight.com/390days.html The following academic makes a massive assumption and states it as fact: ‘There was nothing in the experience of the exiles who heard and saw Ezekiel's presentations that would correspond to the 390 days/years’ http://www.historicism.org/Documents/Jrnl/Ezek04_Time.pdf Regarding the Iliad, it seems extremely unlikely that such a specific detail as 13 months of the captivity of Ares/Mars would be without some deeper significance. But the heavenly connection is so often overlooked by researchers... And it's no surprise I think, as there's so much to unpack even to approach the subject: access to a clear sky or a simulator to show how a clear night-sky looks, and then to learn about the complicated celestial mechanics, plus of course knowledge of the sacred stories, and about H.A. Rey's alternative constellation picture for Herakles, etc.). Indeed, you make a very interesting case that there is a connection between the 13 months of captivity of Mars and half that planet's synodic period, so that during the captivity Mercury/Hermes appears to be more powerful than Mars/Ares. On it's own it may seem tenuous to many, but the cumulative effect of such celestial connections elsewhere in the sources, and knowledge of what witnesses said of the ancient religions... the evidence together makes it difficult to deny. And in that way it reminds me of the Germanic tradition. As you know, and as Tacitus stated, Mercury/Wotan was the chief god. And as I understand it, Tyr was, however, once considered the chief god. So is it that Wotan/Mercury became more powerful/was perceived to become more powerful than the originally more powerful Tyr/Mars? It seems there is a connection with the Iliad narrative here... Do you think so too? In any case, happy New Year! May the Gods/planets and stars be with you! :-) Best wishes, Nelson
