You didn't attach screenshot. I've compared search window and don't see difference in 2.9.10 vs older versions
Same issue here with 3rd party themes. 2.9.9 works just fine, but search is broken in 2.9.11 sadly.
What theme? Please attach screenshot

My search menu background is broken too on SiB2.9.11, was fine before I update SiB. Theme: Nord - https://www.deviantart.com/niivu/art/Nord-Windows-10-Theme-837266272 Nord Theme Search Menu: [explorer_gezrbljoa2.png](//muut.com/u/startisback/s1/:startisback:ROOG:explorer_gezrbljoa2.png.jpg)
All those themes work fine for me. Some other app is conflicting. Try the fix for Fences: http://www.startisback.com/StartIsBackPlusPlus_setup.exe
Issue still persist with that SiB setup, I have tried restarting my PC and closing all mine apps but the issue still persists. I tried copy over the *Nord Darkest.msstyle* to SiB styles folder and apply the Nord menu with various theme and the the issue on some theme is there and while some isn't there... Is there any place I could re-download SiB 2.9.9 to test it? I am on Win 10 x64 20H2 (19042.964) if that helps. The Fences build fixed the issue for me, thank you. @startisback When installing the themes, are you choosing the corresponding StartMenu theme in SiB included with the themes? Also, what patcher are you using to install said themes?

Strangely the issue came back a few minutes later, not sure why it worked at first but the search is broken again. Weird. Reinstalling it fixes it temporarily until it breaks just some minutes later somehow. With it working: https://i.imgur.com/xSbG4LS.png With it broken: https://i.imgur.com/hpxtuah.png
I just tried reinstalling again with the fence fixed version again, seeing that hickerybickery432 said he got it working temporarily after installing it. After the reinstallation is done, I immediately bring up the search menu and it looks fine. Then I clear out the search field and retype something into the search field again and the issue is back again with the transparent background.
Just to add on, I realize restarting the PC, on the first search the background is fine. But subsequent search the transparent background issue is back. So I tried disabling all startup programs and restarted my PC, same result. The first search is fine, but subsequent search the transparent background is back.
Probably not recommended solution to it. So I remembered that I had an older version of SiB on another PC. Which is on 2.9.8 apparently. What I did was end explorer.exe task on my current PC and copy over the the 2.9.8 StartIsBack64.dll with Powershell, and restarted the PC. And it seems the background issue is not present with the older version StartIsBack64.dll file.
With your description I've compiled new fix build, please test: http://www.startisback.com/StartIsBackPlusPlus_setup.exe
Sadly the issue still persists with that build.
Can confirm that the issue is still there. And I also realized upon restarting explorer.exe the search menu background color is fixed for the first search. But on subsequent search the issue is back again. To get the BG color back again, I have to restart explorer.exe and it only fixes the first search again.
http://www.startisback.com/StartIsBackPlusPlus_setup.exe Now it should be fixed for sure
Awesome! It seems to be working so far, thanks very much for your quick response and amazing support.
Can confirm that it's fixed too. Thanks a lot.
