Search Page is Blank and Not Functioning

On my Windows 11 the search function keeps showing a blank page and entering a search word/phrase returns nothing . If I reinstall by running 'winget install startallback' the expected functionality returns for a while before showing blank again. Any thoughts on what is wrong here? Which start menu you use? Which Windows build?

I have the same issue. It will be ok for a while after reinstalling Startallback. And for me, search panel can not be opened.

I find if startallback enabled, the search panel will load for long time(there is a progress line under search box) . And sometimes search panel will load timeouts

Windows 11 Pro 21H2 build number 22000.675. I use the standard windows 11 start menu and the enhanced taskbar. I have also found that restarting Windows Explorer fixes the issue albeit temporarily

If you use SAB start menu, search and start menu prelaunching is disabled, so first opening search may take a while. Use native start menu if you need native search 🤮

So, if I understand you, I think that is the way it was configured. In other words the enhanced SAB start menu was switched off thus showing the native (standard) windows 11 start menu and search facility and it was this search that kept getting disabled. I do however use the enhanced task bar which does what I want. I have now switched on the enhanced SAB start menu and, as you say, the search works fine.

Is that a bug then? ...when enhanced start menu is switched off the native Windows 11 search functionality does not work

Works for me. How do I break it?

I don't know. I only want to use the enhanced task bar, but if I turn off the enhanced start menu the search facility of the native windows 11 only works for a few hours and then loads to a blank screen and when you type something into the search field and enter nothing happens. If I restart windows explorer the functionality returns for a short while and then fails again. Maybe the answer to 'how do I break it' is to turn it off and leave it that way for 24 hours?

24 hours and 100% stable reproduction with only classic taskbar?

Thanks for your prompt reply. That is strange, there must be some other software of mine that is interacting with SAB

I think I might have stumbled across the issue here. I have Microsoft PowerToys installed and yesterday there was an update from v0.58.0 to v0.59.0. Following this update a small niggle that I have been having with Microsoft Office Outlook suddenly 'fixed' itself and so I switched SAB back to using the native start menu. Since then there has not been a repeat of the search not working, so I am hopeful that this was the cause all along.
