Actually, are these "Reissues" verified to have been Remastered? I have scoured the interweb trying to find verification.
Yes the reissues released in the UK have the Calyx remastering credit on the credits. In the US label initially used the previous master (not sure if they were arranging to replace them or not)
For more details and some responses from Martin about the Calyx version, do a search for calyx here, to find the thread.
I was curious about the digital releases of Peng! and Space Age as well. I fell for the US hybrid repress and had to order directly from the UK. Anyone know where I can find digital version of the Calyx remasters of these two titles?
I'll second that request. I know they came with MP3 download codes but I'd pay just about anything for a hi-res file of Peng! remastered.
I think the Calyx Peng/Space Age remasters haven't been released digitally yet, pretty sure there is no download code with the new reissues - let's hope we'll get them someday soon
Just and FYI - I sent a note out to Calyx regarding digital copies and received a response from Henry Lau referencing a download code/card in the vinyl releases. He also mentioned that it'd be up to the label to release or provide those downloads. I explained that it's my understanding that none of the releases contained a download card/code and his response was that there may be different editions. Not sure if there's confusion or if they do actually exist. (Also, I finally received my remasters of PENG! and Space Age! What incredible clarity and vibrance of sound! Very happy I splurged!)
Entirely up to Beggars and nothing to do with Calyx.
